Roberta Hodges Obituary

Mrs. Roberta Elaine Hodges, age 75, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Mrs. Hodges was born in Waukegan, IL. to her late birth parents, William and Jordis Maki Hiitola and was adopted and raised by the late Robert E. and Ester Greene. She was of the Episcopalian Faith and enjoyed building doll houses, working horses, and sewing. Mrs. Hodges worked for over 15 years with Gulf Stream Aerospace Corporation wiring aircraft and later with Lockhead Martin for 10 years until her illness.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Tod Hiitola and sister, Suzie Pinkerton.

Survivors include her boyfriend Wallace "Ace" Lacroix; four children, Sandra Marie Lee and her husband Bryan of Savannah, Elizabeth Gayle Nieves and her boyfriend John Joseph Gravedoni of Ellabell, Kimberly Jean Gregory of Savannah and Jennifer Elaine Peny and her husband John Walter of Ellabell; three brothers, Bill Hiitola and his wife Socorro of TX, Wayne Hiitola and his wife Denise of MI and Ernest Hiitola of MI; two sisters, Karen Abramson of MI and LeeAnn Anderson of MI; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be private.
