RUTH GERSHMAN Obituary

I was the principal of the Ralph Waldo Emerson School where Ruth taught 4th grade. She was a devoted teacher who truly loved teaching and who truly loved and respected all her students, especially the ones who needed Ruth more than the others. Her extraordinary efforts extended beyond her classroom to the entire school community and were greatly valued and will be long remembered.

My sincere condolences to Ruth´s family.As her hairdresser for over forty years when I didn´t receive that usual call for her usual three month perm appointment I was.concerned as she was like clock work on her hair.My customers are like family and I will so miss our wonderful conversations.God bless dear Ruth.

I remember Ruth fondly for our many shared years at Camp Pembroke . Ruth was a guiding light first when I was a camper and later as a counselor. May her memory be a blessing .

I was fortunate to have been assigned to Mrs. Gershman´s class at the Holland School for my required student teaching assignment from Boston State in 1977. Ironically we met again a few years ago while she was visiting someone at the rehabilitation facility where I work as a receptionist. We had a wonderful conversation and I was able to have someone take our picture. She was a marvelous teacher who shred her experience with me. I´m very grateful for all those happy memories.
