Michael Anderson Obituary

Michael David Anderson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024.
Michael was born July 12, 1968, to Robert Lee Anderson and Florence Myra (Jorgensen) Anderson in Atlantic. He attended school in Atlantic and moved to Mississippi in 1980 with his parents and younger siblings where he worked several jobs. He married Sonya Rouse and had two children from that union. Mike moved back to Iowa in 1997 where he worked at A & L Labs for 20 years before retiring this year.
Michael was an awesome brother and uncle, but more importantly, he was a great father and PaPa
Micheal loved fishing, hunting and gaming. He loved to tell stories and reminisce. He surely like to talk to everyone and particularly love to make them laugh. He has had more than his fair share of illness over his life, but always remained positive. Michael was surrounding by family who loved him dearly as he passed.
Surviving are his daughters Kayla (Richard) Compton and Hannah (Leon) Watson III. Grandchildren Winter Compton, Maeve and Elliott Watson. Brother Bobby (Andee) Anderson, Randy (Becky) Anderson and Darby (Angie) Anderson, Sisters Laura (Paul) Huddleson and Jenny (Perry) Knoell. Several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews-all who meant the world to him and who had a big part in teaching them to fish and hunt.
Michael was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
It's for sure Michael would want us all to celebrate, hold our heads high and share a good laugh in his memory.
Per Michael's wishes there will be a family graveside service at a later date.
