Phyllis Marie Wurm

Phyllis M. Wurm, 92, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.

She was born Aug.14, 1932, in Tiffin to Alfred J. and Catherine (Warnement) Meier. On November 17, 1951, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married Urban O. "Urbie" Wurm and he preceded her in death Sept. 24, 2002.

Survivors include her sons, David U. (Denese Madden) Wurm of Florida, Daniel G. Wurm of Columbus and Andrew J. (Emily) Wurm of Granville; daughter, Diane M. Wurm of Tiffin; brother, Gerald J. "Jerry" (Karen) Meier of Waverly; sister, Mary Ellen Zahn of Tiffin; six grandchildren, John Wurm, Lexi Wurm, Jacob Wurm, Audrey Wurm, Alex Wurm and Brad Wurm; and one great-grandchild, Mila Wurm.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Lawrence Vogel; daughter, Linda K. Wurm; brother, James A. Meier; and stepsister, Sister Eileen Marie Vogel.

Phyllis was a 1950 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. She was the business manager at Republic Roofing, Inc. and worked on the family farm, "Greenfield Farm, Inc. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, past board member of the Allen Eiry Senior Center, was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling, playing Bridge and volunteering at the St. Joseph Festival.

Her funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.24, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
