Ethel Maddocks Obituary

I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to Ethel´s family. My father became resident at Stanley House in March this year. His first visit to the home happened to be on the very same day as Ethel´s birthday. He shared some of Ethel´s cake that day and it was a lovely first visit for him. He often sat next to Ethel in the lounge area. I spoke to her on several occasions and established, much to my excitement, that she had attended the same primary school as my father, albeit 10 years apart. I took dad to see the school in July this year and showed Ethel my photos on our return. Her face lit up. She always had a smile. I felt very sad when I knew she had passed.
