My wife and I had the high honor to meet him and his wife at the Grove Farmers Market, some time back. After listening to him and his wife on Larry Black Country Dinner we were stun to see them there here in Los Angeles. We approach them and they were so kind and left quite impression on us to be so well known, yet humble enough for an brief interruption in their day. We will miss him on RFD, but trust his music will continue to be shown. Our prayers go out to his wife. Pastor Gwyn Vaughn

I didn't know Jimmy in life and never got to see him in person but have listened to his music for years on tv on different shows Larry's country diner but Mostly on Country Family Revival show with Whispering Bill Anderson and the Wonderful Country musicians who have entertained us through the years. Some are gone now who Jimmy is playing his Guitar while they continue to play and sing in Heaven. You will forever be the best Guitar player to ever play. I will continue enjoying country music and mostly enjoy any song that has The Sheriff playing the best Guitar music ever. Your the Best Jimmy we all Love You and we will all Miss You Buddy God Bless You and Your Family.

When my husband and I turned on Larry's Country Diner a few months ago, only Larry was in the diner. He started to speak. He said "Jimmy Capps was..." I immediately turned to my husband and said "What's he mean "was." I screamed "Oh God no!" I grabbed my laptop and typed furiously "Jimmy Capps." I found that which I didn't want to find - Jimmy's obituary. I began to cry and couldn't stop. I thought of Michelle and what she was going through. I turned to my husband again and said "Jimmy died on June 2. Why didn't we hear about it. Hubby couldn't understand it either since he's in the music biz (electric guitar builder/repairer). We watch Larry's Country Diner every week and yet nothing was mentioned about the loss of Jimmy.

Well, it's been hard for me to realize that Jimmy has gone to be with his Creator. I sent for his book and read it and learned so much about Jimmy. Reading about his childhood, all the years of playing the guitar and all the great country stars and their albums that he played on and all his years on the Grand Ole Opry. He accomplished so much but most of all - he loved so much and was loved by all he came in contact with, esp. his beloved Michelle.

Dearest Michelle, I think of you often as we did tonight on the diner when you brought Jimmy's sheriff's shirt which you had framed for the diner. You hung it on the wall behind where the Malpass Brothers were playing that night. I'm grateful you did that. It makes me feel that Jimmy is there in spirit - and always will be.

Well, thanks for letting me sound off. Jimmy was a treasure and we sure do miss him. Thanks Jimmy for all the great music. Heaven is now even more heavenly now that you're there strumming away. We love you Jimmy.

I was so sorry to hear of Jimmy Capps passing. I read his book and just loved hearing about his life. He was a good man always promoting someone not himself, he was unselfish. I loved listening to his guitar picking. God gained another angel and we lost one. so sorry for Michelle, it must be so hard for you all to go on but you will. I know because I have done this myself, one foot ahead and keep going. Gods Blessings on you all. Mrs Aubertine.

Larry's Country Diner didn't look (or sound) the same without the Sheriff and Michelle on the stage. I used to think I was a guitar player until I saw Jimmy Capps play flawlessly. Our condolences to Michelle, other members of his family and his Larry's Country Diner family. My relationship was admiring fan.

Under "relationship" it did not show admirer, so I clicked on friend because I did not fit into any other category. I would have like to be his friend but I never met Mr. Capps. I have admired him for many, many years. I love the Country Family Reunion Shows and Larry's Country Diner. Since Covid 19 they don't home deliver newspapers in my small hometown except on Sunday and Wednesday. So I missed his death....until last night when I tuned in to my weekly visit to Larry's Country Diner. I am so saddened. It feels like I have lost a member of my family. Even though my husband and I are North Carolinians, we just got to know him on Larry's Country Diner in the last year or so - after Larry's Country Diner finally made its way to our area via Spectrum. I ordered and had received his book, but was told that he was not able to autograph it. I have read it and looked at all of the photos, and am very saddened that when this virus is over we will not be able to see him back on Larry's Country Diner. From all that I have read about him, I know that he is in a better place but we surely miss him. We are watching a rerun of Larry's Country Diner tonight (rerun, of course).

Jimmy was one of a kind. I was a Bass player on the Road with Billie Jo Spears. I also recorded several of my own original songs, and used Jimmy along with Weldon out at Ben Hall's Studio. Jimmy was a tasteful guitarist who knew what to play to make the mix sound great. Many a time I enjoyed him at the Opry. So sad to hear of his passing. Another loss to Music City... Wayne Anderson
