Jackson, Deon Deon was born January 26, 1946 in Ann Arbor, MI at the University of Michigan Hospital to George and Helen (Drumright) Jackson. He attended and graduated from Ann Arbor Public Schools in 1964. He accepted Christ at an early age under the Rev. C.W. Carpenter at the Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor, MI. He began his musical career while in high school. He was discovered at a talent show at Ann Arbor High by Ollie McLaughlin who was a local disc jockey at WHRV radio in Ann Arbor. He was successful in making the hit song "Love Makes The World Go Round" in 1965. He continued to perform in the Detroit, New York and Chicago areas in the 1970's. He later settled in the Chicago area and worked with special need students. He was preceded in death by his parents; six uncles, two aunts; two brothers and one sister. He leaves precious memories to his wife, Kim; former spouse, Trudy; children, Jeffrey, Eddie, Debbie, Gerry, Kirk, Anthony, and Michelle and 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Lionel, George, Kirk, one sister, Helen; one uncle, four aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor, MI, 850 Red Oak on May 02, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
