Michael R Pickering CFD, age 45, was born February 17, 1976 in Chicago, IL. Beloved father of Zoey and Ella Pickering and stepfather of John Christian. Dearest son of Christine Pickering Deierl CPD Sgt Retired. Loving brother of Mary Pickering Cline (Chip). Cherished nephew of Catherine Conlon CPD Retired, Carol Sutherland (Dr Herbert), and the late Anthony Urbaniak CPD (the late Patricia). Fun uncle of Zachary Pickering; Michael, Noah, and Andrew Reyes; and Chip Cline II. Fond cousin of Christine Foley (Joe), Carol Harrigan CPD Retired (Ryan), Samantha Solano (Stephen), Jillian Kolalis (Ryan), Tricia Boylan (Colin), Aaron Sutherland and Andrea Signor (Stephen). Dear friend and mother of Zoey and Ella, Antonia "Toni" Pickering. Michael was a 1994 graduate of St Lawrence High School. He worked for the Private Ambulance Services before joining the Chicago Fire Department in 2003 finding his home at Engine 29 in Bridgeport with his brothers and sisters he cherished so deeply. He also served the community as an auxiliary police officer in Rosemont, IL and Stickney, IL. Michael always enjoyed going to the gun range with his mother, brother-in-law and cousin; scuba diving; and taking his daughters on family vacations. He had a unique sense of humor and was always making people laugh, but constantly teasing his sister Mary was his favorite pastime. He was loved by so many people who knew him. Visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 3-8pm at Hann Funeral Home, 8230 S Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, IL. Funeral Saturday, 10:00am Chapel Service at the funeral home to Resurrection Cemetery.
