Not sure what to say?

That very first Giants game I attended, in September,1958, Mr. Shofner caught a touchdown pass. that season ended in "the greatest football game ever played", the legendary "Greatest football game ever played," which ended when the then the then Baltimore Colts beat my Giants in sudden-death overtime when Allan Ameche scored his most famous touchdown, which I still agonize over. Decades later, I would have the chance to remember this experience in several conversations...

my prayers to the family as a boy 8-9yrs. old from Toronto canada my first memories of nfl football Tittle to shofner Thats when my love of football began thank you so much rest in peace del

I went to high school 51-54 with Delbert, boy did we have a great football, and ever other team he was on.. Best looking and nicest boy in school. We were so proud to have know him and to be able to say he was from Center, Texas. My husband followed the Giants, Rams because of Delbert. He was a friend of Delber'ts and was proud to know him. My husband's name is Terrell L. Cook

My sympathy and prayers for the family.

As a life long Giant fan, to me, Del Shofner was and still is the best wide receiver in Giants history. In 1961, the Giants traded for Y.A. Tittle and Del Shofner. This tandem terrorized defenses on a weekly basis as the G-men won division titles from 1961-1963. Amazing, the Rams, who drafted him as a number one pick in 1957, traded him to the Giants for a draft pick. RIP 85!

God, where do the years go. I was 14 years old when the Giants traded for Del Shofner in 1961. I first saw him play in an exhibition game in Yale Bowl, New Haven Connecticut. Was, and still is, the best receiver I have ever seen. Thanks for the memories.

I give thanks that Dell cared enough to send help at a very difficult time in my life.
