Sanchez, Yolanda Age 44, McKinley Park area resident passed away on May 6, 2018. Loving mother of Isamar Milan and Ilaris Milan; grandmother of Marcelus Milan-Jackson; daughter of Jesus and Maria Sanchez; sister of Susie Sanchez, Nick Sanchez, Angelica (Rito) Negrete and Jesus Jr. (Anabel) Sanchez; fiancée of Al Sanchez. Visitation Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Wollschlager Funeral Home, 3604 S. Hoyne from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Friday 9:30 a.m. prayers followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Maurice location. Cremation private. Yolanda was a science teacher at Benito Juarez HS, she collaborated with UIC to start SHPE Jr. Chapter and Medicina Academy. She was awarded the Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction award and founded the STARS Project. Yolanda also taught at Instituto Health Science Career Academy. Yolanda made a positive impact on the many lives she encountered and will be missed. 773-523-0196.
