Hooper, Wardell "Dale" Of Chicago, Illinois was called home by his Heavenly Father on Monday, November 14, 2016. Wardell was born on January 6, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri to the proud parents of Boycie Hooper and MacArthur Smoot. He graduated from Manley High School in 1980, married his former wife, Gwen, in 1985 and moved to Colorado in 1988. Wardell worked 16 years at USAA Insurance Company and four years with the US Postal Service. Left to cherish his memory are his parents; former wife; daughter, Eboni; sons, Andrey and Dominic; and his niece, Latoyia; brothers, Patrick, Daryl, Terrell, Christopher; sisters, Theresa, Melissa, and Donna; and his grandmother, Mildred. Grandfather and cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, November 25, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Memorial Service Saturday, November 26, 2016, 3:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 5838 W. Division St., Chicago, 60651.

I worked with Wardell at USAA in Colorado Springs, and am very sorry to hear of his passing. I remember fondly that he always had a smile for everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Es trifft mich tief, dass Wardells warmes und herzliches Wesen nicht mehr unter uns weilen wird. Ich habe mit ihm eine wunderbare Zeit erlebt, wenn ich in Chicago bei meinem Sohn zu Besuch war. Sein Tod ist für mich unfassbar.Ich wünsche der Familie viel Kraft diese schwere Zeit des Verlustes zu überwinden. Wardell wird in meinem Herz und meinen Gedanken weiterleben.
