Mutia, Norma Naval 80, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on February 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents and her seven siblings. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Bernadette (and the late Leonardo Jr.) Rivera; her grandchildren, Kadence, Claudine and Alaina; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a world traveler, a devout Catholic who often prayed the rosary; she loved to work and only just retired from her position in medical records at the age of 76. She was fiercely proud of her grandchildren. She collected lucky elephants and destination spoons. She was known for the "Norma Kebab" at St. Lambert's Church in Skokie. She was first generation from the Philippines, and supported her family as they joined her in the United States. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Des Plaines. Interment to follow at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
