There will never be person on this planet like George Kohut. It is difficult to find words to describe what he meant to me. George, Mary, and Dave I love you guys so much and you are forever in my heart as I would not be who I am without you. George you may be gone from this place but we will carry on like you would with the same love and energy for life until the day we meet again. Every time I play a guitar, drive the streets of Chicago, do something creative, or even eat a wonderful meal I will think of you. To my comrade in arms on the Weber grill, the 81st St. Mayor, the coolest most influential and interesting man ever, I will miss you and cherish you in my heart and soul the rest of my life and beyond.

Please accept my heart-felt condolences on the passing of your husband and father. I new George a little toddler as we lived across the street from him. Although we had the same last name we were not related. My father worked at his father's meat store for a bit and I remember always going over and visiting with Mrs. Kohut. She was a sweet lady. I remember George as being tall, dark and handsome. I will keep all of you in my prayers. I ran into Christine at one of our fish fry's just recently and asked about George and the family.

If this is Mr Kohut my music teacher at Holden High School, I am very sorry.Even it's not I am sorry. But mr Kohut touched my life by studing Music with him. He made that class so much fun. I remember him taking us downtown to see Rigaletto the opera. Funny because I have beem thinking of him lately wondering how he was. Now I know he is in heaven with the angels singing. My condolences to his whole family.

I was very sad to hear about George passing. He was always a sweetheart and a gentleman. I first met George through his sister, Christine. She, another girl and I went to California for a summer. George was living there at the time so out of three months we stayed two with him. George had an old Volvo he let us use and I was the only one who drove a stick. One night us girls went out nightclubing and on the way home the brakes went out. I down shifted and made hard, fast lefts or rights through gas stations till we finally safely made it home. I told George about it but I knew he didn't believe me. Well, the next day, while we were watching TV, we heard the Volvo crash into the garage door. I knew instantly George now believed me. We all have fond memories with George and they always make me smile.
I've been living in Chicago for the past 30 years. I live on the north side and George was on the south side. You always think you have all the time in the world so I figured our paths would cross somewhere. I was wrong. I wish now I had made the effort to see George again. At least one more time.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of Mr. K. I have many fond memories of him and am very thankful to have known him. He put up with many nights of practice when we were green teens in Crestfallen all the way to the later years of Disonic. He had a wealth of knowledge and I don't think we all would have made it very far without his help. Very genuine and down to earth. He will be greatly missed! My condolences to Dave and Mrs. K and the rest of the Kohut family. RIP Mr. K.

George (Mr. K.) was an incredibly loving and beautiful person. He was always so supportive of Dave and the extended musical family we have all shared. George helped us all with amplifier repairs, sound reinforcement, practice space, whatever the band would need to make a show happen, he was just a resourceful guy. It is so sad to hear of his passing. Much love and respect for such a talented man.

We will always remember George (Mr. K). He was one of those rare human beings that don't come along that often.
Mentor to our kids, like a second Father, dearest of a friend, Mr Fix-it extraordinaire, cameraman on many of the best movies ever made, and just a super great guy. And by having the boys pursue their music at the house, he listened to more band practices than anyone can imagine. His influence on them will never be forgotten.
And not to forget his most recent contribution as a valued member of the 99th Street Band as sound man and vocalist.
We are missing him so much and we were so lucky and blessed to have him in our lives. He has a legacy that will live on in our hearts and the hearts of Mary, David, Hannah, Tommy, Jeff, Jonathan, Dustin, Kevin, Jeff M., Joe, etc. etc. etc. etc........
Goodbye and Rest Easy George and we'll catch up when we see you again.
