Masek, Geraldine "Gerry" Mary (nee Wilkinson) Went to be with the Lord December 28, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Geraldine was born February 11, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Alf and Eva Wilkinson. She was raised on the south side of Chicago with her five siblings and enjoyed sharing stories of life in the city. On her 21st birthday Gerry married the love of her life, George Masek (June 6, 1918 -December 19, 1996), with whom she shared 54 years of devoted marriage. George, a carpenter, enjoyed hobby photography and Gerry, a homemaker, was always his favorite model. During WWII, Gerry contributed to the war effort by working as a gas mask manufacturer at the Ford City plant. Her personal interests included working on puzzles, playing cards with friends and family, singing old tunes, gardening and sewing. Together they built their own home in Burbank, Illinois and raised three children who share their values of working hard, living simply and treasuring family. Geraldine is survived by her children, Susan (Bob) Primesberger, George (Terri) Masek, and Sharon (Bob) Hammond. Grandchildren, Mickey, Robert, Mike, Carrie, Jodi, Erich, Jill, Amanda and Cassie will lovingly remember her. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Gerry was preceded in death by her loving husband, George and siblings, Irving (Anna), Evelyn (Norman), Dorothy (Wally), Loraine (Wally) and James (MaryAnn). Geraldine Masek was the last and longest lived of her generation. Her survivors are cheered and reassured that she is now reunited with those who passed on before her.
