Wilma Jean Hunt, age 86, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday morning, November 8, 2021, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, Indiana. Born on December 17, 1934 in Marion County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Jennie F. Gray.
For over 17 years Wilma worked for Aero Drapery in various capacities, including supervisor for the cutting department. She also enjoyed her years as a seasonal employee with Heartland Growers. Wilma was a local Avon Rep. for many years as well.
She was an active member of the Terhune United Methodist Church and the Terhune Ladies Aide.
Wilma was a woman of strong faith, calling upon it daily to help guide her through life’s journey. Family was an important part of that journey. She was a loving mother and dedicated wife; however, grandma would prove to be her favorite role. There were so many things to get to experience all over again with the grandkids. She assisted her husband with farming as well as helping him in the woodshop. Together she and Philip made a lot of neat projects and crafts that they would sell at various flea markets. Wilma loved to go to flea markets, even if they weren’t selling anything there.
Although she graduated from Westfield High School, Wilma was a loyal Sheridan Blackhawks fan. She faithfully followed both Blackhawk football and basketball. She really loved just getting out of the house and going for a ride, and what better excuse than to hit up a flea market or go watch Sheridan play. In Wilma’s eyes the destination was a toss-up, it was the journey she always looked forward to. Wilma enjoyed sewing and embroidery, and truly loved the time she dedicated to fussing with her garden and flowers.
