Taylor, Wayne Louis, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Monday, December 16, 2024.
Beloved son of the late Vernon and Edith Taylor (nee Lalamondiere); dear brother of the late Verna (Anthony) Letizia, Eric (Yoshi) Taylor and Sherry (Jack) Butler; our dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
Wayne was born in Rolla, MO in 1938, he proudly served in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War. Shortly after he completed his service, he lived in Key West, Florida where he owned a bookstore and became friends with Ernest Hemmingway, spending time with him on his boat, sharing many deep intellectual conversations that they both enjoyed. Wayne was quite the free spirited type who loved helping others in need. Later in life he found his way back to St. Louis, where he volunteered at the New Life Evangelistic Center and countless other organizations. He would give his last dollar to someone in need before keeping it for himself. He was truly selfless in all he did.
