Susan Greenhut Obituary

Beloved wife, deeply devoted mother and grandmother
Susan Greenhut, 81, of Morristown, NJ, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with severe pneumonia at Morristown Medical Center on Saturday, January 11.

Susan was a force of nature. Overcoming one challenge after another throughout her life, she was continually doing whatever it took to support those she loved. A graduate of Boston University, she would become a schoolteacher, owner of a cleaning company, a shiatsu therapist, the boss at Eastern Vending, a dedicated volunteer working with infants at Morristown Medical Centre, and a person who loved playing cards with her friends, even though she rarely won. She was married for more than 55 years to Phil Greenhut, who died in 2023, and was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother. A funny and fierce presence, Susan died as she lived - with uncommon strength and love, making sure her wishes were clear.

Susan is survived by her sister, Wendy, her children, Lisa (and Johnny), Andy (and Stacy), and Josh (and Susan), and three wonderful grandchildren, Jonah, Sadie, and Lucas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, where she volunteered and where she was treated with truly extraordinary care at the end of her life.

A funeral service for Susan will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039.
