Dear Uncle Mike, I am so glad I was able to attend your 80th surprise Birthday Party. When they brought you into the back room the look of surprise on your face was special. Soon you started saying Names as you spotted all of us. You were really shocked to see so many people. We all came as you have always been extra special to all of us. You had a huge cake which you cut with Aunt Carol by your side as we sang Happy Birthday to you!!! You were beaming. You came by me and we had a nice chat. you told me about your dog. You said it was not going to be happy as you were not home. and the pup did not like to eat when you were not home. I gave you a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. Which was special as you shied away from such gestures. You then got called to open your gifts... Mine was one of the last ones I gave you a little birthday balloon on a stick and a framed picture of you in a little sailor suit with my dad next to you. It was an extra special gift and I could see you really appreciated it. You have always been an extra special Uncle to me. When I was very little you gave me a book shaped like a big red apple in it you signed to Susan Love Uncle Mike. It was a book about children and the fruits they ate in different countries bright and colorful. One picture was of a little boy with a Banana tree... I have it some where with my treasures. I also remember a view master with pictures of bugs bunny dressed as an artist with smock and bret- Bugs was sculping with a chisel a clay head - it was brown 3d claymation pictures I loved that! One time you came up to our cabin in Eagle River Wisconsin with Aunt Carol and Brenda & Gina . I think we had gone boating. Anyway we were on the pier and you and Dad spotted this fish I think it was A Northern Pike it was swimming along the pier going underneath it and around both sides, you and Dad kept casting your fishing poles trying to get it to bite your bait but to no avail. Finally, you both gave up and climbed the 100 stairs back up to the Cabin. I had been watching you both. I took the old huge net and when it came around again I scooped it out of the Lake I filled the bait bucket with Lake water and carried it upstairs. I proudly showed Dad and Uncle Mike! You both couldn't believe I caught that huge Northern Pike with a Net! Aunt Carol convinced me to put it back as I really didn't want to cut it up slippery scaly fish. Biggest fish I ever caught! You will be missed, Uncle Mike. I have special memories of you throughout my childhood. I remember at our home on Prospect Ave you and Dad would play pool or race Dad's cars on top of the paneling placed on the pool table or play the Hockey game . Special treasured Memories ..Love you, Uncle Mike. God Bless you always. Love, Susan

I will always have fond memories of my Uncle Mike, he had a way about him that made you feel welcomed n relaxed even if many years had past since we seen eachother. He had a huge heart and he showed that not only to his immediate family but to his nieces, nephew's, cousins and friends. You will surely be missed Uncle, if you perhaps see my Dad give him my love too! May God grant you eternal peace

I remember the time Uncle Mike and Aunt Carol
met us in the North Woods... aka. Eagle River/ Three
Lakes,WI. for some snowmobiling fun at the cabin. OH BOY, that was a Burriffic time to be had. Circa. Winter 1975. I couldn't tell who was who with the frosted helmet face shields!
That was a very special memory for me! I'll miss
your laugh and that mischievous smile. Time is too fleeting. I was just getting to know you. Love your
nephew John. In Christ.
P.S. That electric train set-up in the attic with the little towns and bridges was really something to see and hear!!!
