Eleanor Lucile Klingbeil, age 92, of
Stuyvesant, New York, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Eleanor was born on October 17, 1933, in the Town of Root, New York. She was the beloved daughter of the late Birdsley and Irene Darrow. The second-oldest of ten siblings, Eleanor grew up in a large and lively family and carried a deep sense of love and connection with them throughout her life. She was predeceased by Lois Avery, Herbert Darrow, Dewey Darrow, Laverne Darrow, Alice Keller, Doris Derrick, Virginia Darrow, Muriel Herron, and Joyce Douglas.
Eleanor made her home in
Stuyvesant, New York, where she lovingly raised her family and built a life rooted in kindness, hard work, and devotion to those she loved. Over the years, she was employed by A&P Food Market, Concept IV Computer Systems, and KeyBank. She was also a proud past member of the Stuyvesant Fire Auxiliary and valued her connection to the community.
Above all else, Eleanor was a loving mother and a proud, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and brought her endless joy. She treasured every moment spent with them-from sleepovers and card games to popcorn and movie nights. She had a special way of making each child feel deeply loved, valued, and important.
Eleanor is survived by her loving children: Arlene (Butch) Link, Philip Klingbeil, Ellen (Christopher) Addington, Roger (Linda) Klingbeil, and Joann (Frank) Crocco, along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert, and her dear daughter, Barbara Hotaling.

Valatie, NY, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery, Route 9, Stuyvesant Falls, NY.
