James "Jim" Ginther, Sr. Obituary

James “Jim” Ginther, Sr.

Jim passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on March 5, 2025.

He was the beloved husband of Jeanie (nee Murray) for 62 years, father of Jim (Vicky), Lisa (Ron), and Kim (Rodney), grandfather of Ashton (Ryan), Ryan, and Kiana, and brother of Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell “Butch” and Mildred, and his sister, Jeanette “Bunny”.

Jim was proud of his service in the United States Air Force and in law enforcement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid St. Louis Blues fan. He fulfilled a lifelong dream in 1998 by retiring to his country home in Warrenton where he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Another lifelong dream was realized when the Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

Services: A memorial service will be held privately at the SCHRADER Funeral Home - Eureka, 108 N. Central Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Uncle Jim was a constant presence at all family gatherings my whole life. He was a quiet man and seemed content to sit back and listen to the conversations and just enjoyed being with everyone. Now he and my mom are together again. love you all.

Grandpa -

It’s only been a few days since you left us, but my heart aches unimaginably. You were one of my first best friends and always one of my biggest cheerleaders. I could not have asked for a better grandpa or role model. Without you life just won’t quite be the same.

I know you made it to heaven to be reunited with all of your lost loved ones, and are now looking down on those of us you left behind as our new found guardian angel.

I love you and miss you so much.

Forever your best girl,
“Tinker” (Ashton)
