Deborah Joy McBride Obituary

Deborah J. McBride died on July 29, 2021 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Hospital. She was born November 1, 1952 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the daughter of Arthur Noel and Joy (Watts) McBride.

Deborah attended Natchitoches High School and Northwestern State University. She was a dietician and worked for the Diocese of Alexandria and Natchitoches Parish schools for many years. Deborah had a great love for her family, and thoroughly enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Noel and Joy.

Deborah is survived by her children: John J. Kavanaugh and wife Lisa, of Bossier City, Louisiana; A. Scott Kavanaugh, M.D. of Shreveport, Louisiana; Matt Kavanaugh and wife Anita of Hanmer Springs, New Zealand, and Kelly Griffin and husband Tyler, of Cypress, Texas.

Her siblings are: Richard L. McBride and wife Sandra, of Arlington, Texas; Thomas C. McBride and wife Kristina, of Alexandria, Louisiana; and A. Wayne McBride and wife Gilda, of Dallas, Texas. 

Her grandchildren are: Madison Kavanaugh of Bossier City, Louisiana; McKenna Kavanaugh of Shreveport, Louisiana; Lauren Kavanaugh of Bossier City, Louisiana; Molly Kavanaugh of Shreveport, Louisiana, Haley Griffin of Cypress, Texas; Gavin Griffin of Cypress, Texas; Harrison Kavanaugh of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Amelia Kavanaugh of Shreveport, Louisiana. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00AM at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 8:00AM until service time at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery, Natchitoches.
