David Sutch Obituary

David Allen Sutch, 76, of Ballwin, MO passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, with his family by his side.

David was born on March 26, 1948, in Painesville, Ohio, the youngest of six children born to Paul and Veronica Sutch.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara Fazekas, brothers Paul and Tom Sutch. He is survived by his siblings, Richard (Phyllis) Sutch of Florida and Mary Behnke of Ohio.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 34 years, Nancy; his daughters, Jennifer (Todd) Lough, Meredith Sutch, Janine (David) Muntean, and Kristen Mallonee; six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and great nephews.

David played several sports at Harvey High School in Painesville, where he excelled in football and basketball.  Following his high school graduation, David pursued higher education at Ohio University and John Carroll University, where he studied chemistry and math.

He enjoyed a career in sales with Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing in Ohio.  He received numerous top sales awards, and his work took him several countries abroad.  He contributed to the development of three patents within the roofing industry. In 1978 David relocated to St. Louis working for the Garland Company.  He later co-founded Dandt Consultants, a roofing consulting company, with his brother, Tom.

David had a wide range of interests and knowledge.  In his 30’s he attended LeCordon Bleu Cooking School in Dallas and Paris.  We are blessed to be the recipients of this avocation.

David enjoyed participating in various activities, including bowling, golf, tennis, boating and gardening.  He was an active member of his community, coaching a girls' softball team from his backyard and helping family and friends with renovation projects.  
As an active member at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Ballwin, serving as an Elder and Chair of the Property Committee.  He was also a member of the Elks Club.

Avid travelers, David and his wife embarked on numerous journeys, exploring destinations across the globe, including England, France, Germany, Canada and Mexico. They extensively toured the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. Their love for the beach led them to acquire a second home in Sandestin, Florida.

Memorial gathering at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday, February 7, from 5-7 p.m. Service at the St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 601 Claymont Drive, Ballwin, Saturday, February 8, at 1:00 p.m., with visiting hour beginning at 12:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Mark Presbyterian Church.
