Calvin Dixon Obituary

Calvin William Dixon, age 67, of Mooresboro, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son to the late Alton Junior Dixon and Margorie Spears Dixon. Calvin was a great family man who enjoyed helping others and loved to get hugs. There are not enough words to describe the true man Calvin was to everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Hamrick Dixon and three brothers; Jack, Robert and George Dixon.


He is survived by his “significant other” Christine Lancaster Harrington, step children; Janet Jau, Sandi Blanton and Kathy Taylor, four brothers; Gene Dixon, Steve Dixon, Pat Dixon (Geneva) and Wayne Dixon (Kathy), two sisters; Dianne Willis and Brenda Lister (Leroy), nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.


A graveside service will be held at 2pm Friday, September 10, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresboro, NC with Reverend Kevin Hamrick officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.eggersfuneralhome.com. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
