Fagan, Elizabeth Louise Bashe 94, formerly of Chicago Heights, Illinois, died surrounded by her family in her home in New Lenox, Illinois on Thursday, January 19, 2019. Elizabeth, the daughter of Edwin and Basilia (Hauser) Bashe, was born on November 16, 1924, in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from St. Mary of the Woods College before marrying Peter "Tom" Fagan in 1946. She and Tom settled in Chicago Heights, IL, where they raised fourteen children with enormous patience and love. A devout Catholic, Elizabeth gave of herself for the interests of others and her church. Elizabeth loved reading, crossword puzzles, and music. She gained energy and joy in the company of her family and friends. A wonderful wife and mother, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Charles (Margaret) Bashe; and one grandchild, Kyle Fagan. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen (Richard) Henseler; by five daughters, Clare, Libby (Mike) Riordan, Judy (Blase) Pignotti, Loretta (Mike) Baumann, Jean (Gary) Mueller; nine sons, Peter Jr. (Virginia), Dr. Michael (Elizabeth), James (Mary Beth), Stephan (Pamela), Dr. Mark (Patti), Dr. John (Jeanine), Timothy (Lisa), Dr. Thomas (Rose), and David (Christine); 51 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019, at Panozzo Brothers Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street, Chicago Heights. Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1501 Chicago Rd., Chicago Heights. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to one of the following: St. Agnes Church/School, 1501 Chicago Rd., Chicago Heights, IL 60411, saintagnes.us/index.php/contact/giving; Legionaires of Christ, legionariesofchrist.org/donate-lc/; or Marian Catholic High School, 700 Ashland Ave., Chicago Heights, IL 60411, marianchs.com/apps/pages/memorial-donations.
