Smith, Carolyn Ann January 12, 1948 - September 11, 2018. Carolyn Ann Eans-Smith was born January 12, 1948 in Huntington, WV to the union of Robert Eans and Naiomi Ruth Hargis. Both of her loving parents preceded her in death. The eldest of two, Carolyn Ann and her younger brother, Ronald, spent their early years in Kenova, WV. Their family later moved to Chicago in 1957 where Carolyn Ann attended Ruggles Elementary School and then Hirsch High School where she graduated with honors. Always striving for academic excellence, she continued her education at Northern Illinois University and Chicago Teachers College graduating Suma Cum Laude. After graduating, she taught in the Chicago Public School system and after several years moved on to the Markham School System where she later retired. Carolyn Ann was a remarkable, talented and gifted educator. Her love and compassion for her students never waned throughout her career.
