Susan GRIMSHAW Obituary
Susan Virginia Grimshaw "Ginny" (nee Mabee) May 16, 1950 - January 17, 2023 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ginny Grimshaw, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Much loved daughter of Ollie and Barb Mabee (predeceased). Cherished wife of Bill Grimshaw (predeceased). Ginny was treasured by her son, Tobin and daughter, Jennifer (Emma, Raegan). "GinGin's" granddaughters were her shining joy. She will be missed dearly by her sisters, Martha (Gustel), Alix (Paul) and Cathy (Chris) and her caring nephews and nieces. Ginny adored all 'her dogs' (Rubin, Springer, Maggie, Harley, Ollie and Casey) and spoiled them with endless affection and treats. Ginny was beauty, grace, patience and kindness personified. She possessed a quiet strength and an unwavering love that truly shone through her roles as wife, mother and grandmother. Ginny's home and her heart were always open - everyone was welcome. She embodied selflessness and continually put others first. She was a strong believer in forgiveness and always saw the best in people. Many were drawn to her warmth and came to think of her as a mother, or grandmother, of their own. Ginny loved to keep busy and enjoyed an active lifestyle, always on the move. She loved walking, exercising and adored swimming, boating and soaking up the sun at her Pemichangan cottage. A great cook - her signature banana bread, tourtiere and salad dressing will be missed by all. A lover of reading and learning - Ginny stayed young at heart and young in mind until the end. Ginny loved her community and gave back through volunteering (Heart and Stroke Foundation, Glebe Report, Mutchmor). Her signature blonde hair and 'side pony' made her easy to spot around the Glebe. She was adored by all - young and old - but was happiest when surrounded by kids and dogs who were drawn to her gentle nature. Thank you, GinGin, for being the very best mom in the world. We love you. A celebration of Ginny's life will be held on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa.
