With broken hearts, the family wishes to announce the sudden, unexpected passing of John Anthony Krupper, age 75, at TBRHSC on Friday, December 1, 2023, due to heart issues. John, a loving, and much loved, husband, father, and papa, is survived by his wife of 52 years of marriage; Lorraine Krupper, daughters; Jo Ann Krupper (George) and Laura Mayhew (John), granddaughters; Stephanie Hunt (Lindsey), Danaka and Alyssa Mayhew, sisters; Lenore Potvin (Dan) and Rosemary Krupper, brother; Thomas Krupper (Lise), sister-in-law Connie Poirier (Allen), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by his son John A. Krupper Jr., parents; John and Rose Krupper, brothers; Andrew and James Krupper, and other family members.
Born and raised in Fort William (Thunder Bay), John graduated from Westgate High School. His working career began at Cochrane Dunlop Hardware and retired at Western Supplies/Emco Ltd. John was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens, New York Yankees, and Toronto Raptors. In retirement, he kept busy with home renovations. He could often be seen riding his bike, sitting outside with his cup of coffee and newspaper in hand, or talking to friends and neighbours. John spent hours and hours listening to his music. He was very caring, and supportive, always willing to help everyone, always willing to give advice - whether you wanted it or not!
In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal funeral service. A drop-in gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1-4 p.m. at the Victoria Inn - Ontario Room.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in John's memory to be made to TBRHSC Foundation - Northern Cardiac Fund, or
charity of choice.
