Hill Sr., David W. Was born to the union of Waverly and Viola (Green) Hill on August 17, 1929 in Faunsdale, Alabama. He was the fifth of nine children: four sisters, Bettie (deceased), Fannie (deceased), Bessie and Viola; and four brothers, Waverly (deceased), William Bryant (deceased), Edward (deceased) and Johnnie. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church in Faunsdale, Alabama. Dave, as he was fondly known, graduated Perry County Training School (currently known as Robert C. Hatch High School) in Uniontown, Alabama and attended Alabama State University until he was drafted to serve in the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Chicago, Illinois and married his wife, Dr. Joan M. Payne in 1951. To this union, two children were born; Honorable Pamela E. Hill Veal and Dr. David W. Hill, Jr. (Skip). Dave made his transition in his home on Sunday, August 04, 2013 at 1:57am. Dave leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Joan; daughter, Pamela; son, Skip; granddaughter, Syreeta; brother, Johnnie (Francis); sisters, Bessie (James) and Viola; brothers-in-law, Kenneth T. Payne and Michael N. Payne; sister-in-law, Linda; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friday, August 9, 2013, 2:00pm - Visitation/ Repast, 3:00pm Service, New Covenant M.B.
