Graduate of Central Michigan University and University of Michigan. Teacher, Principal, Superintendent of Schools in Highland Park. Avid gardener, golfer and handyman. A friend to all, his charisma and smile lit up a room. A warrior hero in his approach to life. Beloved husband of Maureen for 45 years; loving father of Ann Crilly, Brenda Brainerd, Shoshana Buchholz-Miller (Victor); cherished grandfather of Megan, Ryan, Annabel, Atticus and Tess; much loved brother of Richard and Sylvia. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10 am at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, IL. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
