Blount, Irma Irma (Blackledge) Blount, age 104, was born in Mobile, AL on March 16, 1909, her peaceful transition to God was made on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 12:43 P.M. In 1916 her family moved to Chicago, where she later met and married Thomas Blount (deceased). Irma was the mother of nine children, Lewis, (deceased), Jerome (deceased), Gilbert (deceased), Maxine, Richard (deceased), Anita, Brenda, Odessa, and Linda. She accepted Christ at an early age, and united with King of Kings Church in Lynwood, IL, where she was the mother of the church. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughters, Maxine Hollins, Anita Roberts, Brenda McCleod-Carter (Walter), Odessa McClendon-Little (Thomas) and Linda Valentine-Notree (Curtis); fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at King of Kings, Church in Lynwood, IL, from 11:00A.M.-1:00P.M., Burial immediately following at Lincoln Cemetery.

Linda, I am so very sorry for your loss, due to an out of town event, I was unable to be with you guys on this sad occasion, but please take comfort in the love that you all shared with your Mother, according to her obit, she had a long life and knowing you I know it was filled with happiness. May God continue to bless you and keep you in arms, my prayers are with you.

Although I never met Ms. Blount, I was able to meet and form a bond with her grandaughter Mickie McCleod, who talked about her all the time and loved her very much. I offer my sincere condolences. God Bless.
