Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 3:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home. Born July 7, 1971 in Chicago, he passed away April 23, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family after battling a long illness due to a 'flesh eating bacteria' and liver failure. Chris spent the 3 1/2 months in the ICU unit of Loyola Medical center. Chris attended St. Hubert School and Schaumburg High School. He continued at the University of Illinois and went on to work for the Ford Motor Company. He completed his studies earning a bachelor degree in commerce from De Paul University. Chris worked for Ford 15 years at both their Melrose Park parts distribution center and their high velocity center in Chicago. Throughout his life, Chris was active in sports. Growing up, he played football at Schaumburg High School and Harper College. He loved to work out, play golf and was an avid runner. He competed in several Chicago marathons and was always a devoted Bears fan. Chris loved all types of music. He was always everybody's 'cheerleader' encouraging his family and all his friends to excel in all their endeavors. No matter where he went or what he did his smile and sense of humor made everyone enjoy his company. Chris was the loving son of Chuck and Connie; dear brother of Chuck and the late Cliff; fond grandson of the late Henry Kowalewski and Helen Kowalewski Dasey and the late Charles (the late Mary); beloved nephew of Garry (Simi) Kowalewski, Jack, Rich (Florence) and the late Henry B. Kowalewski; dear cousin of Garry (Kim) Kowalewski, Melissa (Aiden) Butler, Nicole (Matt) Cee, Mary (Densey) Cole, Jackie, Jennifer, Danny, Rick (Eva), Cindy (Brian), and Debbie (Tom) Sullivan. The Krol family would like to extend a 'special thank you' to all the people at St. Alexius Hospital and Loyola medical Center who cared for Chris over the past 8 months. Connie, Chuck, and Chuck,
Connie, although you are the only Krol family member I know of from our son Martin's days as a student at St. Hubert, I wish to extend our families sympathies to you on the loss of your son. As I was reading some of the other messages, I came to know how your son loved life, smiling and laughter. i how he inherited those qualities from you, and your family. I pray you all will have of sense of God's presence and healing at this time. and the love of your family and friends will help to give you comfort.
Our hearts join with yours in thought and prayer.

It was so wonderful to have known all of you over the years and to have witnessed the friendship between Ralph and Chris. We have a lot of people come and go in our lives, but they/we truly have years of wonderful memories. It was as if I had another brother, that was so sweet and full of laughter. I am so grateful to have had him as part of our lives. My sincerest condolences and prayers to all of the Krol family.

God Bless your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you from one of Cliff's former managers. I just happened to open the paper today and it fell open to the announcement of Cliff's brother. You have my deepest sympathy along with others at my work as I'm sure Chris was just as wonderful of a person as Cliff. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers, Judy Piszczek & co-workers (former manager of Cliff at Northwestern Flavors)
