This holiday I'm thankful for a lot, and one of those things is Comedy Central's interest in buying Mashup. Whether or not we do it, I will say that Pat's involvement was integral to making that project become what it is today. Even now, years after he's gone, he exerts influence comedically over all of us, and whoever sees the Mashup special, which will air for sure, will see something that Pat Brice helped make possible.
I always loved holidays in Chicago, just before we all left and just after we all came back. It was always so cold, and my coat was always less fashionable than Pat's when we were saddled up against the bar. He was the best, and I wish his family happy holidays and hope that they are reminded of his incredible presence in our lives, a presence that I am reminded of often and to this day.
Happy Holidays to everyone who celebrates them,

Today I go to the How To Train Your Dragon Premiere, and that reminds me that Pat was on his way to a successful voice over career after having just signed with Innovative VoiceOver. They had high hopes for him, and I wish that i was attending this premiere with him, as I know he would have been voicing characters in animated movies one day.
We miss you PHB, always.

Here it is two years since Pat left us.
Friends and family still continue to share stories, laugh and feel the pain of his loss as if it were yesterday.
We can only rely on a line from the poem "REMEMBER ME"...."smile because I have lived." And live he did.
We love you Pat.

I've been going through an unusually hard time, but I always remember that Pat and I could talk about anything. He was a guy's guy, but he had a lot to say about relationships and love and philosophical subjects in general. That was his appeal as a comedian, he was a brilliant common man, a really smart guy who wasn't in any way pretentious or judgmental. I'm headlining a club in Kansas City, headlining was something I talked a lot with him about, and touring in general. I always secretly wished for the day when I could take him, C.J., Flannery, all of the guys that I love in Chicago on the road, I knew it would make for the best time and the best memories. It really saddens me that he's gone.

Dear Family, Friends and Pat's Friends,
A year has gone by since we lost our fabulous Patrick. How have we lived a year without him? The question is so easy to answer - the love, support, comfort, overwhelming admiration for Pat has kept us alive and proud of him every minute of every day. We were so blessed to have Patrick Healy for 29 wonderful years. Not one regret, not one!
There are no words to describe the emptiness and heartbreak we feel but we can find words to describe our family, friends and Patrick's friends.
We are overwhelmed at the love everyone feels for Pat and how his spirit and love for life lives on in all of us.
Our never ending thanks to all, it is book worthy. We love you all.

I learned of Pat's death a few weeks ago, having lost touch with him after completing Second City Training Center courses with him several years ago. Pat was a wonderful, talented person--upbeat, clever, and driven--and I was stunned to learn that he was no longer with us. He will be very missed. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

We had a show in LA on Wednesday, and it was the show he was supposed to be in. It went well, but I kept thinking about how much better it would have gone if he was there, how he killed at every one of those shows and how funny he was. He was truly funny. When a chemist is a genius, the people benefit, but when a comic is a genius, PEOPLE benefit, because he makes each person laugh--makes them happy even for a short while.
Pat was that.

Dear Bernie, Mary Alice, Dan, and Ashley,
Time for joy is short, time for grief is long, but time for love is eternity.
May you all gather strength from everyday things, from smiles and warm hello's, from thoughts of loved ones close beside you.
Please except my condolences, my heart aches for your loss. I new Pat only for a short time but will always remember the speech he gave at his brother's wedding. I thought what a blessing to have such a wonderful, handsome intelligent young man, he shared with all of us about the strong bond his family shared. This bond of love shall forever be there with each of you.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Karen

I first would like to thank you all for the kind words and support that you've shared over the past week for Pat and my family. I can't tell you how much it's meant to us and how therapeutic it's been to read your comments. It's making the loss of Pat a bit easier knowing that he touched so many of you in the same way he has moved us over the past 29 years. Your love has been overwhelming and I thank you.
Pat is my brother, my best friend, as he was to many of you on this forum. I was lucky enough to have spent 29 incredible years of sharing in his laughter, joy, pain and love. He was passionate about everything he did in life, accomplishing whatever he wanted to. That's why there are no regrets about his passing. He lived a full life and he already made it a long time ago in our eyes.
My mom, dad and I consider ourselves so fortunate to have spent the last moments of Pat's life together with him as a family. We danced, we drank, we laughed, we took photos, we hugged, we laughed more all the way until the end. And that's what I want to leave everyone with...that Pat was genuinely happy with his life and you all are a big part of his inner peace. I hugged him goodbye at 3:30AM on Sunday morning. It's a hug that I'm sure many of you have experienced. Hang on to that feeling forever...I am.
Thanks for keeping Pat's laughter and spirit alive. Continue to share stories and remember to live your lives to the fullest. Take a leap of faith, be relentless, pursue your dreams, call a friend in need, tell your family you love them, travel and make someone laugh, because Pat will be right there with you.
I love you Pat. You were just too good for us.

I work at one of the clubs Pat performed at, and as I was running the sound for a show one night, he came up to me during the other guy's set with a big smile and we had a really nice conversation. It isn't everyday at a comedy club when the performer actually wants to know more about you, how your day has been, etc. Pat was a real standout, and his routine was hilarious! I was so sad to hear of his passing, but I'm sure he's looking down on all of us with that big smile. I won't ever forget him, and I wish his family the best.

Last time I saw Pat was after I just came from a Sox game. I tried to do all the regular open-mics that comics do on Monday in Chicago and I stopped by the Globe to do a set. I sat near the front where Pat made a comment about me wearing a shirt on my head (got it free from the sox game), Something about how you know that guy had a great time. I can't do justice to it because I can't really remember the comment, but the crowd laughed and he had a good set. That's why I couldn't believe he passed. It was that recent. And he really knew how to get the crowd's attention in a hurry. Just ranting about some crazy story in his life. I didn't know him that well, or said more than "hi" or "good set", but everytime I'd see him onstage he's always kill. Even the dead rooms with 4 people in the room. He was just a someone who you could not listen to. Plus, he's a regular Chicago guy, That's makes a guy A1 in my book. God bless you all.
