Obituary Condolences

Marsh, Marietta Cashen Passed away peacefully in her home in Winnetka, IL, on May 13, 2014, where she lived for 50 years. She died of cancer. She was born in Grosse Pointe, MI on January 30, 1936, where she was raised, spending her childhood summers in Guilford, CT. She graduated from Endicott College in Beverly, MA in 1955. While attending Endicott College she met her husband, Jeremiah Marsh, Harvard '55/Harvard Law '58, who was a Chicago lawyer and political consultant until his death in 2004. She worked as a teacher's aide at the elementary, middle and high school level in Wilmette and Winnetka. She served on the Endicott College Board of Trustees for over twenty years, until her death. She was also a member of the Society of Architectural Historians and the Chicago Botanic Garden. She is survived by her brother, Henry Cashen II, of Washington, DC; her son, Howard Marsh of Franklin, KY; her daughter, Kimberley Marsh of Winnetka, IL; her daughter, Courtney Marsh Chapin of Washington, DC; her son, Christopher Marsh, of Chicago, IL; her grandson, Jeremiah Marsh Chapin; her granddaughter, Grace Cannon Chapin; her grandson, William Michael Coffey; and her grandson, Samuel Howard Coffey.She is also survived by her niece, Hayley Clapham, and her nephews, Ray Cashen II and Henry Cashen III, and their families; and by her sister-in-law, Joan Marsh Turner, of San Ramon, CA. Memorials can be made as donations in memory of Marietta Marsh to the Society of Architectural Historians, 1365 North Astor Street, Chicago, IL 60610, or to the Chicago Botanic Garden athttp://www.chicagobotanic.org/donate/tribute.php Burial services were private. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sts. Faith, Hope, and Charity, 191 Linden Street in Winnetka, IL 60093, at noon on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, with a lunch reception immediately following.
