Budzyn, Sylvester "Jack" Age 95, resident of Mother Theresa Home, Lemont, formerly of Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood and a parishioner of St. Bruno parish. Beloved son of the late Frank and Paulina (nee Piekos); loving brother of the late Estelle (the late Joseph) Biniak, the late Louis (the late Wanda), the late Walter (the late Edith), the late Edward (the late Mary Ann), the late Mitchell and the late Eugene; beloved uncle to the late Donald J. Biniak, Thomas J. Biniak, the late Richard J. Biniak, Louise (the late Joe) Edwards and Joseph E. (Pat) Budzyn; great-uncle to Simone Edwards, Charisse Edwards (Nick) Cozzi, Scott Edwards, Tricia M. Budzyn and USAF Capt. Joseph A. (Donna) Budzyn; great-great-uncle to Jacob and Ryan Cozzi and Alexander J. and Amelia F. Budzyn. As a young man, Jack served in the Civilian Conservation Corps helping build projects in many states including the lodge and cabins at Starved Rock State Park, Utica, Illinois. Afterwards, Jack worked as a commercial baker for the A & P grocery store chain and at independent bakeries in the Archer Heights neighborhood. In addition to having a sweet tooth for cakes and pastry, Jack also had a green thumb and was an avid gardener who shared his crop with friends and neighbors. Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel at Franciscan Village, 1260 Franciscan Drive (Main St. & Walker Rd.) Lemont, IL, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
