Rose Picciarello Obituary

Picciarello, Rose 91, passed away May 17, 2016. Resident of Friendship Village in Schaumburg for 7 years, formerly of Chicago. Last surviving sibling of Martin Vuksinic, Mary O'Keefe, Kate Parsons, and Helen Gornick; devoted wife of the late Thomas P.; loving mother to her son, the late Thomas A. and daughter Susan (Stephen) Witwicki; grandmother of 3, Carly (Jason) Richko, Kristen (Nathan) Gac and Brian (Katrina) Witwicki; great-grandmother of 7 beautiful great-granddaughters, Gianna, Bianca, Isabella, Katelyn, Kelly, Elise and Jill. Longtime Chicago White Sox fan. Loved living at Friendship Village and was seldom seen without her deck of cards playing rummy or solitaire. Everyone knew Rosie even if she did not remember their names. She will be missed for her warm smile and friendly greetings. She showed courage and strength in facing the many obstacles in her life's journey. We would like to thank the loving care mom has received from the staff and nurses at Friendship Village, with special thanks to the staff of the Willows where mom spent most of her time. You will always be in our hearts for your endless love and care you have shown our "Rosie". Thanks to Alexian Brothers Hospice for her comfort and care these past few months. Visitation Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
