Setlak, Raymond V. "Ray" Age 88, late of Hegewisch, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Janet Setlak (nee Ciebiera) for 58 years; loving father of Linda (late Jimmy) Pappas, Ken Setlak and Diane (Jay) Janowski; proud grandfather of Erik Pappas, Steven (Courtney) Pappas, Kevin Setlak, Kristen Setlak, Kyle Janowski and Danny Janowski; caring great-grandfather of Angel, Breanna and Iziah; dear brother of Marge (Joe) Wojtonik; kind uncle and cousin of many. Preceded in death by parents, Jozef and Mary (nee Lorek) Setlak, and siblings, Frank (late Vera) Setlak, Angie (late John) Palilunas, Ceil (late Vick) Mockus, JoJo (late Eddie) Wactor, Dorothy (late Joe) King and Annie (late Michael) Hutsko. Raymond proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #697 and a lifelong member of St. Florian Church. Raymond was employed by Jack Beck Corp., and worked for the Chicago White Sox for 30 years and loved watching sports. He was a retired 60 year member of the Union Carpenter Local #434. Our "Dzia Dzia" was a master carpenter who valued faith, family and friends and who built many memories for us all. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle; he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
