Susberry, Ramona July 8, 1938 - November 30, 2017 Born in Denver, CO, to the union of Henrietta Broussard Scott and Nehemiah Scott. Ramona made her way to Chicago, IL where she met and married Lenard Susberry Sr., their union bearing 6 children. Ramona was also a foster mom and an adoptive mom. Raising her children to love the Lord and put Christ first she fostered a legacy that led to nurturing partners and parents, over 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren (and counting). Coming to know the Lord as her savior, her first church home was Grace & Glory Chapel where she also served as a camp counselor at their Circle Y Ranch. Starting the "Good News Club", Ramona brought neighborhood children to a saving knowledge of Christ. Another church family of hers was South Shore Baptist. Other church bodies that she frequented and loved were Evangelical Christian Church, Grace Conservative Baptist Church, Crusaders Church, Pastor Bynum's church, and Elim Christian Church. Ramona supported multiple missionaries and televangelists both in the U.S. and Africa. Graduating with her associates from Moody Bible Institute, Ramona went on to be a Chaplin at Mercy Hospital and participated in the Chicagoland's Christian Women's Conference for many years. Never without her bible or an encouraging word and prayer, Ramona lived her life for Christ. We are unable to fully grasp all of the lives she touched or souls she won for Christ but if you knew her then you loved her because she showed God's love where ever she went. Please know that Ramona Susberry's memorial service will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Elim Christian Church, 2735 W 79th St., Chicago, IL 60652. Wake 3:00-4:00 p.m., Funeral 4:00-5:30 p.m. Come in love to celebrate the homegoing of our beloved.
