Wells, Ralph George 95, died peacefully at home in Monee, IL on Sunday, December 24, 2017. His caregiver and friend Aron Pitts was by his side. Preceded in death by his wife, Clarice C. (Needles) Wells of 68 years. Father of Nancy Gard and Brian (Mary) Wells; grandfather of Robin (Chuck) Ramirez and Alexander, Eric, and Grace Wells; great-grandfather of Carson and Ryan Ramirez; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Christine (Schmueser) Wells of Riverdale, IL, brother George Robert (Madonna) Wells, and sister Margaret "Trudy" (James) Bingham. Ralph, formerly of Dolton, IL, was a WWII veteran. He served in the Army Air Force as an Assistant Flight Engineer with the rank of Corporal. He flew missions in the Pacific in B-24 Liberators. An employee of Whiting Corporation for over 30 years, he was head of the Estimating Department and Chairman of the Whiting Men's Club. Final resting place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Ellwood, IL beside his wife Clarice. Funeral services are private as requested.
