Oh Pat - The dim light in the back room suggested that you, alone, had returned from a long winter's journey. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
God Bless.

To Elena and the rest of the Georgouses family:
I will always remember "Papa G." and his joy of life--especially when he threw a bunch of $1 bills in the air for all us girls to catch!
You are in my thoughts.
I am sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear about Phil's death. I will always remember the tricks he showed our children and his insistence that we order the skate, which we still do, whenever possible. He will be missed. So glad that you have kept his legacy going with the wonderful restaurant.

My wife and I visited the Charcoal Oven about once a year. It was always special with great food, decor that reminded me of earlier days, and of course the tomatoes at the end of the meal. The highlight was being greeted by Phil and then his comments on the menu.
Condolences to the family.

Phil was one of the nicest men I have ever known. The first time I went to the Charcoal Oven I was 3 months old and I looked forward to every one of the hundreds of times I was fortunate enough to visit after that. Phil was extremely loyal to my family, especially my grandmother, and made a real difference in our lives. Not only a good man, a good friend, a wonderful host and a fun person to be around - Phil was dear and strong. I will miss him and my thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

Dear Maria and Rich,
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I enjoyed my conversations with your dad. I remember how proud he was in 1999 when he celebrated his 50th year at the Charcoal Oven. I will always remember his words "now watch your head, Bill". I'm sure that his life was an inspiration to many and that he will be really missed.
May you experience peace and comfort at this difficult time knowing that God is in control of all things.
With deepest sympathy,
Bill Kok

I used to work at Video Adventure in Evanston. Mr Georgouses used to come in often to rent Video from us. He was such a wonderful man. He would always come in with warm bread for me and a great smile.
My thoughts are with you.

Rich and Maria,
I loved your Dad and he was always the epitome of graciousness to me, my family and any customers or friends who had joined us. When people like Phil depart, there isn't anyone to take their place, they simply don't make them like that anymore.
With deepest sympathy.

To all the Georgouses girls and rest of the family - There is no other like your Dad, as many will attest. Tomatoes and sourdough bread. THE Family Man. God bless him. All the Kellys.

We are deeply saddened hearing about Phil's passing. His was a life well lived. He was the epitome of decency and his family values were beyond reproach. We spent many days together at Thorngate CC, swimming, eating, laughing. We referred to it as the "Kalamata Country Club"....We so looked forward to Pat and Phil and the girls to join us poolside. He will never be forgotton and always in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers and love to all of you at this difficult time.
