Bartelt, Norman Earl Was born March 31, 1933 in Elgin, Illinois, the only child of the late Clara "Marvel" Stringer Bartelt and the late Earl William Bartelt. He left this earthly home on May 28, 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Janis Boyd Bartelt. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (John) Drennan and Nancy (Kenneth) Dodd; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his special lady friend, Esther Larson, and numerous friends, including neighbors and members of the Addison Seniors and the dance club. Norm was a loving, devoted husband, father, papa and friend. Norm earned his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering in 1955 from Northwestern University and his MBA in 1973, also from Northwestern. His career with the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in LaGrange, IL spanned more than 30 years. He served for ten years on the Board of Directors of the LaGrange Memorial Hospital. For most of the past twenty years, he served on the Board of the Brookwood on the Greens Condominium Association, including several years as Board president. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Geils Funeral Home, 260 W. Irving Park Road, Wood Dale, IL. Interment Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. Funeral Monday 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alexian Brothers Hospice, 1515 E. Lake Street, Suite 206, Hanover Park, IL 60133.
