Stewart, Nancy Louise (Mekoola) Age 69, of Downers Grove, IL passed away on February 19, 2017, in her home after a 3 year battle with cancer. Nancy was born on January 5, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to Louis and Madeline Mekoola. She graduated from Mother Guerin High School in 1966 and continued on to receive her Nursing Degree from Ravenswood School of Nursing where she graduated in 1970. For the next 43 years, Nancy proudly cared for 1000's of expecting mothers at Ravenswood & Lutheran General Hospital. She fell in love with her husband, Ronald Stewart, and they were married in 1973. She was blessed with two stepchildren, Craig and Carolyn, and two daughters of her own, Jennifer and Kimberly. Nancy is survived by her husband, Ronald Stewart; her parents, Louis and Madeline Mekoola; her brothers, Tom (Sue) and Brian Mekoola; her children, Craig Stewart, Jennifer (Brett) Kendrick, and Kimberly Stewart; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Nicholas, Rob, Zachary, Ashley, Madeline, Taylor and Vivian; and an abundance of other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Carolyn. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Nancy on Saturday, March 4, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Downers Sand Club, 1211 Butterfield Road, Downers Grove, IL 60515. Together we will raise our glass to the good times we shared with Nancy! Please join us in casual attire and jeans, remember this is a celebration. The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
