Slosar, Maureen M. (nee McCormack) Age 80, resident of Smith Village, at peace on June 26, 2015. Beloved wife of Paul J. Slosar for 54 years; loving mother of Dr. Paul J. Slosar, M.D., (Darlynn) Maggie Burke (Kevin) and Edward F. Slosar (Nadine); dear "Nana" of Shane, Sydney, Cormac, Keiran, Mairead, Michaela, Emma, and Mara. Alumna of Saint Xavier Academy, and St. Mary's College, South Bend, IN. Maureen served as a Teacher at Mendel Catholic H.S. (1956-58), Owens Elementary School, Burbank District 111 (1958-62), and Christ the King Grammar School. Maureen was the creative talent behind many theatrical productions at Mendel H.S. and Christ the King School. Past President of St. Joseph Carondelet Child Center, Member of Board of Directors for her family business, S.H. Mahoney Extract Company in Chicago, and member of Christ the King School Board for many years. Maureen was inspired by her lifelong devotion to St. Jude and St. Anne. Visitation Wednesday 3:00-9:00 p.m. at the Curley Funeral Home (Heeney-Laughlin Directors), 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, IL 60415. Family and friends will meet at Christ the King Church, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave., Chicago, IL 60643 on Thursday for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ the King School Foundation or Emilie's Fund of Smith Village, 2320 W. 113th Place, Chicago, IL 60643 are most appreciated. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. She was my fourth grade teacher at Owens. And Mr. Slosar was one of my teachers at Byrd School. I remember both of them...wonder influences on students..
