Sullivan, Mary Elizabeth (nee Yarbrough) Was born on April 2, 1927 in Athens, Alabama to Minnie Sue Wilson-Yarbrough and Joe Peter Yarbrough. She went home to the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2013. Mary Elizabeth "Liz" later moved to Chicago, IL and married Franklin Simeon Sullivan (deceased). She was the beloved mother of Wayne Simeon Sullivan (Yvette), Ft. Meyers, FL; Marshall Frank Sullivan (Renee), Chicago, IL; Dr. Myrtis Sullivan-Donald, Chicago, IL; Katherine Sullivan-Ragsdale, Chicago, IL; and Doris Elizabeth Sullivan, Naples, FL; dear sister to five siblings, Horace Yarbrough, James Yarbrough, Eddie Mary (Mae) Baity, Wilma Cooper, and Wayne Preston Yarbrough. Her parents and two brothers, Horace and Wayne Preston, preceded her in death. She was the cherished grandmother of twelve grandchildren, Kimberly Silva, Semone Simmons (Steve), Wayne Sullivan Jr. (Roni), Talisa Ingram (Patrick), Marques Sullivan (Veronica), Dr. Elizabeth Donald-Zimmerle (Scott), Dr. Stephanie Donald, Dr. Jessica Ragsdale, Aaron Ragsdale, Justin Ragsdale, Dorrianne Sullivan, and Nia Sullivan; and nine great-grandchildren; and the kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Liz was a very wise woman and she will be fondly remembered for her hilarious, very witty sayings and clever words of wisdom. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 3 PM-8 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, 63 E. 79th Street, Chicago, IL 60619. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 8301 South Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60620 (10:00 AM Wake; 11:00 AM Funeral). Interment will be immediately after funeral at the Evergreen Cemetery, 3401 West 87th Street, Evergreen Park, IL 60608.
