Dalfonso, Mary Carmella (nee Valentino) 82, of Chicago, IL and Naples, FL, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on September 14, 2017. She was the cherished wife of Michael P Dalfonso for 62 years; beloved mother of Bruce (Lori), Cathy (Greg), Michael, and Sharon White (David); devoted and loving grandmother to Liz Olson, Alex Dalfonso, Matt Marks, Sarah Dalfonso, Ryan Marks, Alex Johanson (Richard), Cheyenne Rolon (Chris), Chelsea Spears (Turner), Dannielle White and Sydney White and great-grandmother of Jakob, Johanna and Reagan; dearly loved sister, Jan Valentino (Chris). Everyone that loved Mary was able to experience one of her three top qualities: her love of family, her loyalty to friends and her passion to serve others. Her love of family had the foundation of 62 years of marriage to her best friend and husband, Mike. It was a living testament and example of what a marriage should be. Her favorite things to do in life was anything that included her family. She was a world class mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Mary was fiercely loyal not only to her family but also to her friends. They knew she was there for anything they needed in good times and in bad. Whether it be a meal, a gathering, or any kind of event she was there to serve others. She was a magnanimous personality, whose vibrant soul and smile lit up any room she entered. She was a warm, compassionate, and effervescent woman who always went out of her way to help others. She was a proud and dignified woman who had a passion for life and a wonderful sense of humor, which endeared her to everyone she came in contact with. She truly cherished the many friendships they cultivated over the years. Not only did our family lose, but everyone lost an absolute angel. Memorial Service to be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Croatian Catholic Church, 2823 S. Princeton Ave., Chicago, IL 60616. In lieu of flowers, donations to Care for Real, www.careforreal.org, would be greatly appreciated.

As another of the very fortunate "couples club kids", Mary always opened her home and her heart to everyone. Such incredible memories of the 4th of July. Staying in touch through email and facebook meant the world to me. May you soar with the angels Mary.
