Politakis, Lewis 98 of Oak Lawn, IL, died peacefully at home Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Loving husband of the late Carol (nee Dimitrakopoulos). Survivors include his daughter, Christine; son, Michael; grandson, Alexander; sister-in-law, Mary (Siamis) and her son, Dennis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He served four years of combat duty in the South Pacific in WWll (the big one as he always said). He was a proud member of the VFW, DAV and AHEPA. Visitation Sunday, June 28, 2015, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Damar Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, IL, where funeral will process from on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 9:30 to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 7560 S. Dear Christine, my sympathy on the death of your Father. May he RIP. What a great age!! I remember him (you too!) from my years at Southwest Federal Savings. I also remember your Mom very well...she bought this Irish girl a lovely vase from Greece and I always think of her when I dust it as it is displayed nicely in my living room. I did not know she passed away too. I often wondered...
I just thought you might like to know that even though our loved ones pass on they are remembered by those who lives they touched while passing through this world.
