Kathy was so brave and good--she was an inspiration to everyone who knew her even a little. No matter what trials life dealt her, she always managed to be upbeat about her situation. She found delight in simple things: a card, a hug, a smile. She had an enchanting love of frogs--whether represented by stuffed toys, stickers, pictures, or poems. She was truly a wonderful person.
My thoughts go out to the entire Mullarkey family, especially my dear friend Colleen, and I send my heartfelt condolences on the loss of such a special sister and aunt.

Dear Mullarkey family:
My sympathy to you on the loss of Kathleen, on behalf of my parents, Eileen and Tim Sweeney. My parents, I remember when I was young, were great friends with Joe and Carol. I remember Carol was a bridesmaid in my Mom and Dad's wedding. My Mom talked to Carol often, when they were raising their families, and was saddened by the loss of Maureen. My parents often talked about Joe when he was starting the business. My parents are now both deceased, and taught me to read the Tribune death notices. I know they would want me to send their prayers to you. Rest in peace, Kathleen.
