Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Petrey) Kelly; loving father of Mary Ellen (Donald) Hughes, Nancy Kelly and Joanne Patryn; fond grandfather of Matthew (Cristine) Figas, Caren (Jon) Heick, Samantha Patryn and Heather (Marshall) Autry; great-grandfather of Charlese, Jonny, Emily, Willie, Jimmy and Tommy; dear brother of the late Walter (Adeline), Charles (Florence) and William (Dorothy) Kelly, and Lillian (Erhard) Reiss; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Joe was a WWII, U.S. Army Veteran, former Democratic precinct captain of Chicago's 11th Ward, 45th precinct and #1 White Sox and horse racing fan. Joe retired as Superintendent of Building Maintenance and Construction from the City of Chicago. Resting at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., Algonquin, IL 60102 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 401 First Street, Cary, IL 60013. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL with military honors. 847-458-1700.

I love you grandpa!!!!!! You were the best and most loving grandfather. You have taught me many things through out my life and I intend to pass those great life lessons down to my children. Rest easy grandpa and enjoy your second honeymoon with grandma!
