David and I send our deepest condolences to your family. We have spoken many times about Papi Joe and how he courted Lupe many years ago, coming over to his house in the middle of a snowstorm and saying he was "just in the neighborhood and thought he's stop in." But it was LUPE he stopped in to see but was too shy to say.
David has sooo many fond memories of spending the night w/Jimmy and how he loved visiting there, saying grace before meals and taking only 1 cookie from the jar, all things that were sooo foreign to him (smile). He told me that it is his dream for us to live as Uncle Joe & Aunt Pat did, sitting in their living room chairs, him reading the paper and her knitting in loving silence, just being together.
We are so very sad at his passing and send you and Jimmy all of our love and affection.

My heart goes out to all of you who, along with Papi Joe, welcomed and included Zach and Eamon and me to the happy gatherings and posole and enchiladas. Papi Joe was a gentleman and the grace with which he lived his life is reflected in all of his family. much love. Diane
