Cantu III, Humberto H. Challenge yourself, try new things, and have fun is how you would expect someone with the nickname Smiley to live their life. This is exactly how Humberto H. Cantu III, 32 of West Chicago, IL lived his life before passing away at his home on July 14, 2016. Through the missteps and unfortunate events, he continued to view life as an adventure and challenged others to do so as well. Grace Franckowiak will always remember her brother turning another lazy summer day into a day of rollerblading, mud pies, and time at the pond (against their father's wishes). Humberto's brother, Andres Cantu, recalls the hundreds of conversations that ended in uncontrollable laughter, while Humberto Cantu Jr. loved to come home to his son taking apart the latest gadget and enjoying the challenge of putting it back together. It was his positive attitude and smile that led him to finding his partner in life, Yatti Perez, and they eventually had two beautiful sons, Christopher and Nicholas Cantu. Please join Humberto's family as they remember his life and celebrate his reunion in heaven with his mother, Sylvia A. Cantu. Burial service will be at Greenwood Cementary, 1814 Lucas St, Muscatine, IA on July 29th at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Grace Franckowiak. Keep on Smiling.

Even though my sister and I weren't related to him by blood, he still treated us as if we were his own. He was like a father to me. I will never forget the impact he had on my life, and I will always remember and cherish the amazing moments we had together as a family. He will forever be in our hearts.

He had his whole life ahead of him......
I will always remember how he was at 16. I was always pushing him to go to school and helping him with jobs. I remember one time while I dropped him off at school he said to me, "why do you care so much?" And I said, "because you have your whole life ahead of you and so much potential, don't give up"
Some years had passed and I met up with him again. It's been a while since I have seen or heard from him.
My heart goes out to his kids, his dad,his sister and his brother. At the least he rests in peace with his mom.
He will be missed....
