Abelson, Hope A. (nee Altman), 95, of Chicago, grande dame of Chicago's non-profit theatre movement. Beloved wife of the late Lester S. Abelson, devoted mother of Katherine A. Abelson (Robert J. Cornell) and the late Stuart R. Abelson, loving grandmother of Jesse F. Abelson and Benjamin "Jamie" Abelson. Memorial services celebrating Hope's soul and spirit will be Tuesday, September 26th, 5:30 p.m., at The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Ontario St., Chicago (312-787-3997). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hope's name may be made to League of Chicago Theatres, 228 S. Wabash Ave., Suite #300, Chicago, IL 60604 would be appreciated. My prayers and sympathy are with you. I'm a former staff member at Columbia College and remember the dinners I attended at the Alexandroffs' where I met Hope. What a lovely lady. AGAPE.
